Rule Changes

From time to time it is necessary for the good and correct running of the games of Billiards and Snooker for the rules to be examined in detail and where necessary modifications made.

A committee selected from those referees appointed by World Snooker as being of such standard and with such knowledge as being able to interpret the rules for the good of the games will meet as required in order to make such amendments and changes.

The World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association, the owners of the copyright © for the rules of Billiards and Snooker have announced a number of changes to the Rules of Snooker from those contained in the rule book published on the 14th September 2007.

The Rule Changes are as follows:

Change to section 4 Rule 5 (c) made in March 2009.

Rule 5 (c) now reads:-

(c) If a player concedes a frame in any match when snookers are not required, the referee has the discretion to decide if such concession shall be regarded as ungentlemanly conduct or misconduct by the player concerned.
