Rules

  1. The competition will be open to all snooker players and will be played on a knock out basis.
  2. When not in conflict with the following, the EASB standard competition rules will apply.
  3. Each club may enter any number of players who shall have been members of that club for not less than six (6) months.
  4. The lower age limit for competitors is 13. If pairs with juniors in them are drawn away and the home club will not permit them entry, then the fixture may be reversed or played at a neutral venue at the discretion of the committee.
  5. The competition will be handicapped and the association’s decision will be final and binding. The association reserves the right to amend the handicaps after the conclusion of the first round.
  6. Matches will be the best of five (5) frames with the semi-finals and final being the best of seven (7) frames.
  7. Up to and including the quarter finals the match will be played on a home/away basis with the first drawn player having the home advantage. The home player must ensure that SUITABLE MATCH BALLS are available, they must also give their opponents a choice of THREE separate dates to play the game, these dates MUST NOT all be in the same week.
  8. To assist in arranging games ALL PLAYERS are required to provide contact details on the entry form. These details will be retained by the Secretary and will only be used when players are having problems in arranging a match.
  9. Semi-final and Final will be played on dates and at neutral venues as determined by the association.
  10. All claims for games not played shall be in writing, Email is acceptable, and shall reach the secretary prior to the draw for the next round taking place. Failure to notify the secretary will result in the home player being eliminated.
  11. Beaten Semi-finalist’s or their nominated deputies MUST, except in exceptional circumstances, attend the final and Presentation in order to receive their winnings. Failure to attend will result in non-payment.
  12. Closing dates for entries and completion of each round will be strictly enforced.
  13. ENTRY FEE shall be £7.50 PER PAIR or 3 Entries from the same club for £15.00 to accompany the Entry Form and to be in the Secretary’s hands by 13th February 2010. Cheque's should be made payable to the Cleveland Billiards and Snooker Referees Association.
  14. Prize monies for the Winners, Runners up and Losing Semi-finalists will be dependant on the number of entries received.
  15. Entry shall be considered as acceptance of all these rules.
